Make a lasting impact on Jewish life through IACT (Inspired, Active, Committed, Transformed), Hillel's innovative strategy that harnesses the power of Birthright Israel. In addition to guiding students on impactful Birthright Israel experiences, the IACT Coordinators will engage with the students prior to their departure and upon their return. They will empower them to be leaders in Jewish communities on campus, and inspire them to seek out additional Israel-related opportunities. IACT Coordinators are excited to engage students in Israel and in Jewish conversations and have a deep understanding of Jewish identity as a framework for shaping meaning, value, and purpose in the lives of emerging adults. They wake up each day (or at least most!) genuinely excited and enthusiastic to help students explore, experience, and create vibrant connections to Israel and Jewish Life. The IACT Coordinator is the center of Israel and student engagement on campus.

JUF’s Lewis Summer Intern Program is an eight-week PAID internship program that provides participants hands-on experience coupled with professional development seminars, networking opportunities, and Jewish identity-building. Internships are available in a variety of fields, including marketing, social work, public affairs, business, fundraising, and many more! Participants work in a hands-on internship Monday-Thursday and spend Fridays at JUF participating in professional development. All placements are in the Chicagoland area. The Springboard Fellowship is a cohort based, paid, two-year Fellowship that brings together early career professionals to make Jewish life engaging and inclusive for college students. Fellows gain professional competencies needed to be outstanding leaders and change-makers in their communities while engaging in compelling work on college campuses across North America.

Springboard’s goal is to develop the talent pipeline that Hillel and other Jewish organizations need by attracting intelligent and passionate university graduates with the aptitude and skills to engage more students in Jewish life on campus and in their communities. The two-year program will prepare Fellows within specialty areas of work that are currently in demand at campus Hillels and also build skills for sought-after professions for today’s ambitious graduates.

 The RAC will soon open applications for the 2025-2026 Eisendrath Legislative Assistant Program, a paid year-long fellowship for recent college graduates or individuals with equivalent academic and professional experience who are interested in Judaism, social justice, and public policy. 

Legislative Assistants are at the heart of every aspect of the Reform Movement’s social justice work and gain skills in advocacy, communication, community organizing, and youth education. The RAC is particularly interested in investing in and engaging with applicants from underrepresented and marginalized backgrounds, including People of Color, people with disabilities, people from marginalized socioeconomic backgrounds, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and other marginalized identities.

The Jewish Service Corps is an immersive service year program for changemakers ages 21-26 ready to find their place in justice movements and Jewish community. Corps Members launch their careers in social justice by serving full-time at local non-profits in Chicago; New Orleans; New York; and Washington, DC.

Outside of work, Corps Members build powerful, pluralistic community in the bayit (communal home) while exploring the crossroads of social justice and Jewish life through innovative programming.

The Collegiate Leadership Internship Program (CLIP) is a selective, paid internship experience in New York City for college students to develop professional skills, explore their Jewish identity, shape their community, and connect with mentors and a cohort of values-driven peers. CLIP matches undergraduate students with engaging, substantive internships at Jewish nonprofits based in NYC.

Summer interns spend Monday through Thursday working full time (8-hour days) at their internship placement, and full day (9am-4pm) Fridays in social, experiential seminars with their cohort. CLIP seminars are where the personal meets the professional: we ask big questions about professional life and leadership, learn tangible professional development skills, network with guest speakers, explore excursions throughout the city, and consider themes around Jewish identity. One of these seminars will take the form of a weekend-long Shabbaton retreat from Friday-Sunday outside of the city, with transportation provided by CLIP.

JewishGen is pleased to invite applications for our fifth annual Bennett and Robin Greenspan L'Dor V'Dor Legacy Program to take place from July 1, 2025 - July 10, 2025. Rising second-fourth year undergraduate students in accredited colleges or universities are invited to apply.

On this 10-day journey, participants will visit and tour many Jewish heritage sites throughout Poland, including Warsaw, spend an inspirational Shabbat in Krakow, visit Auschwitz/Birkenau, and ultimately participate in the clean-up and preservation of a Jewish cemetery in partnership with Polish volunteers. During this part of the program, we will focus on the role of Jewish cemeteries today in preserving the memory and legacy of former Jewish communities. Specifically, we will explore symbols and epitaphs on tombstones, the general state of Jewish cemeteries in Poland after the Holocaust, efforts to preserve them from both a communal, political, and Halachic perspective,  and consider lessons that can be gleaned to inform our own life choices today.

Kefiada is JUF’s English-immersion, American style day camp in Kiryat Gat-Lachish-Shafir, Israel. Kefiada dates for summer are June 20-July 22, 2025.

Kefiada campers are 4th-6th graders and the counselors are college students from Chicago or go to school in Illinois.  Kefiada serves as a bridge over the summer for Israeli students to retain the English that they have learned during the school year and expand on it.  Counselors stay with host families and get to see Israel from a different angle, really become a part of Israeli life and help Israelis in a meaningful way.

Rumbula’s Echo is a documentary series exploring the second-largest mass shooting during the Holocaust. Filmed across six countries, the series weaves together eyewitness accounts and extensive archival materials to uncover the events leading up to the massacre, as well as its aftermath and lasting impact.

This part-time (12 hours per week) internship offers a unique opportunity to join a team of seasoned documentary professionals with BBC, PBS, and NBC credits. This highly selective program is designed to engage eligible students in complex documentary film production, and provides the opportunity to conduct research in support of advanced post-production.

The internship is unpaid. The intern will receive a film credit and invitations to production team events in connection with Rumbula’s Echo screenings. While there may be occasional opportunities to work remotely, this is an on-site position located in downtown Chicago.

Conversations to Remember, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, dedicated towards combating loneliness and isolation felt by senior citizens is looking for volunteers help these seniors, many of whom are suffering from dementia. Our virtual visit program matches 2-3 college students with residents of long-term care, assisted living, and memory care communities for virtual video visits.
