MCH Passover 2025

Whether you journey out of Egypt every year or this is your first Exodus, come laugh, celebrate and eat and drink with MCH and Silverstein Base Chicago. See our 2025 Student and Young Adult offerings below and click the appropriate links to for more information. Seder registration is now open and is required for all of our Passover Seders. Registration forms will close on April 11, please make sure to sign up before then. Walk-ins will not be admitted.

Pre-Passover Learning

  • March 18, 25; April 1, 8, 12:00-1:00 PM ET | 9:00-10:00 AM PT | 7:00-8:00 PM* Israel Time
    (*Note: Due to daylight savings, the sessions on March 18th and 25th will begin at 6:00 PM Israel time. )

    Join Rav Will Friedman, a faculty member at Pardes North America and Senior Educator of Silverstein Base Lincoln Park as he blends deep scholarship with accessible Jewish learning. You can expect engaging discussions, deep Torah insights, and a warm, welcoming community of learners.

Saturday, April 12: 1st Seder

  • Join Base Logan Square for First Night Seder on Saturday, April 12th at 7:50PM. We will start the Seder at ~8:15PM. Our seder is going to be a blast! You can expect delicious food, deep conversation and learning, and all the good vibes! We're so excited for you to be a part of it.

  • Join Base LNCLN for our 4th annual Community First Night Seder on Saturday, April 12 at 8:00 pm. Base LNCLN is located at 858 W Wrightwood Avenue, Chicago. Click here to register.

    Base LNCLN is a home-based Jewish community for people in their 20s and 30s in Lincoln Park, Chicago. Wherever you are coming from and wherever you are going - welcome home. Our seder is a very special experience. You can expect delicious food, robust conversation, energetic singing, and big questions! We're so excited for you to be a part of it.

    There is no fee to attend, however, it does costs us approximately $50 a person to host our community seders.   • Come gather around the Seder plate as we tell the story of our liberation. We will enjoy a full Seder, sing, share stories, and rejoice in our freedom. This event will be capped, and you must register to attend. Please click here to register.

  • Join our family for seder night one at 8:15 p.m.! We'll journey through the seder, decoding and exploring the more complex and confusing parts of the ritual together. Expect space for all of the traditional seder practices, with pathways for more individualized discussion, questioning, learning, and play. This is a great seder for those newer to the ritual or interested in refreshing their approach and Chef Rav Jonathan is home-cooking!!!

Sunday, April 13: 2nd Seder

  • Join Metro Chicago Hillel on Sunday, April 13 at 6:30 pm at the MCH offices located at 858 W Wrightwood Avenue, Chicago for a seder full of connection, comfort, and creativity. Please use the form below to register each individual attendee. If you are registering for multiple people, after form submission, you will be shown the link to register for additional attendees.

    Rabbi Nicole and Marni can't wait to celebrate Passover with you. Hillel has grown so much this year and there are so many new faces at our events. We're excited to bring everyone together, to celebrate as a community, to consider what we have in common, and to recognize and honor what makes each of us unique. The world is full of conflict, but Hillel should always be a safe place for you to be yourself. Wear your comfy clothes or put on your holiday best and join us for a meal that will feature absolutely no bread with Rabbi Nicole and Marni as we explore why this night is different from all other nights. Dinner served approximately at 8:15.

Chol Moed Programs

  • Join Base Logan Square on 4/16 at 7:30 pm for Brinner! Yes, that's breakfast for dinner. In good seasonal fashion, we will be serving both sweet and savory matzo brei with other delicious Passover-friendly foods. With mimosas too, of course! Come hang out and have brinner, duh. Address and details provided the day before the program.

Passover, one of the most celebrated holidays in the Jewish world, commemorates the biblical Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. The week-long holiday is celebrated by munching on matzah, slabs of crisp, unleavened bread, and abstaining from chametz, or leavened food. Other observances include the seder (a ritual meal), lively songs, intense discussion and of course, debate. We were once slaves in Egypt, now we are free… LET’S EAT! Whether students are hungry for brisket and macaroons, or for the warmth of community and the light of Torah, Hillel welcomes them to the table. Passover begins with the first seder on April 12, 2024.

Metro Chicago Hillel does not charge students for our Passover programming. Your donations support multiple Seder experiences, Kosher for Passover meals, and additional holiday programming.
